The mountain world offers so much beauty. At the very top of my list are the mountain lakes. And so, on a wonderful August weekend, I'm out and about in Arosa, hiking the Two Lakes Hike Arosa<\/strong>. When wanderlust really grips you, this is an ideal approximately three-hour loop hike that passes two beautiful mountain lakes \u2013 the Schwellensee and the \u00c4lplisee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you arrive by Rhaetian Railway, you can first take a leisurely hike through Arosa and Innerarosa, or during the main season, you can also take the bus to Innerarosa to the H\u00f6rnliair.
We arrived by car and parked directly in Innerarosa. From there, we walked to the H\u00f6rnlibahn and started our hike towards Schwellisee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the H\u00f6rnli Express valley station<\/a> You'll hike up to Schwellensee on well-maintained and well-signposted hiking trails. The ascent is easy and also suitable for families with children. In total, you'll climb 100 meters and reach Schwellensee in just under an hour. Of course, this is without extended photo shoots \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We, that's Manuel and Anna from the Saarland<\/a> and I, will circle the lake once, enjoy the view, and then head towards the slightly higher \u00c4lplisee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a two-lake hike in Arosa, you naturally need a second lake. This one is beautifully situated at 2156 meters above sea level in a high alpine environment. Both lakes are fed by the Plessur River, which later also flows through Chur and flows into the Alpine Rhine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From \u00c4lplisee, you have a clear view of the Parpaner Rothorn and thus of the Lenzerheide region. This lake is particularly popular with photographers due to the reflection of the magnificent mountain world on the water's surface. We too take countless photos, which for us amateurs all look the same later on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the way, swimming is allowed in both lakes. However, both lakes are also ice-cold in the summer and therefore only for the daring. Nevertheless, we see a girl who actually dives into the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Two Lakes Hike Arosa is a leisurely, easy hike with breathtaking views. If you can do without the summit cross for once, you'll get your money's worth here. A little tip at the end: bring plenty of drinks. There are no springs or fountains up there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
