Hawaii Day 29: Today we headed north to Anini Beach State Park. Dennis bought a snorkel set specifically for this, cheap because it's Made in China.<\/p>\n
Since we dawdled while shopping, it was already noon when we arrived at the beach. Therefore, we had delicious sushi first.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
After that, we looked for a nice spot. That's not very difficult here on the island, and you're usually almost alone on the beach.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The sand here is great, a bit finer than at the hotel, and there are no waves at all because the beach is in a long bay. That means you can start snorkeling right away.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Despite being made in China, we saw great corals and brightly colored fish. Admittedly, only briefly, as the goggles immediately filled with water, but still.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
After about an hour, the dive at the water's surface was finished, and the snorkel set was disposed of properly. You always get what you pay for, but we only went snorkeling once. Clever!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Our beach stay ended after another hour because Helene saw too many crabs and saw herself lower on the food chain.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
On the way back, we found a mini-golf course with a great terrace and a cafe. Perfect for writing postcards.<\/p>\n
The mini golf course was located in a botanical garden, so we got to see some beautiful flowers along the way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Everything is so beautifully colorful here. Great!<\/p>\n
