Wir haben einen relativ kurzen, aber sehr sch\u00f6nen Islad Kurztrip gemacht. Insgesamt nur f\u00fcnf Tage auf der Insel, haben wir aber dennoch den kompletten S\u00fcdwesten auf unserem Island Kurztrip erkundet. Eigentlich war geplant, dass wir die ganzen Tage in Reykjavik bleiben, aber wir sind dann doch ins Insel „Innere“ gefahren. So ging es gen Osten zu den grossen Geysiren. Der derzeit gr\u00f6sste aktive Geysir schiesst alle 10 Minuten 80-100\u00b0C heisses Wasser in die Luft. Sehr beeindruckend. Wir mussten leider bei allem, was wir unternommen haben, anschliessend im Auto mit der Klimaanlage unsere Klamotten trocknen *g* Es waren nur ca. 10\u00b0C plus und somit war es bitterkalt in nassen Sachen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continued to Gullfoss waterfall, which consists of two cascades. In the evening, we found a small cave in the mountains where we found dry shelter and had a barbecue. Yummy! And well-deserved!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then it was off to sleep at Iceland's second highest waterfall, Haifoss, in the south of the island. After a short walk, after which we were soaking wet again, we peacefully fell asleep in our Jeep just a few meters away from the waterfall =). Until a severe storm woke us up in the night. It's a strange feeling when you get the feeling that the car is going to tip over in the middle of nowhere, in pitch darkness, in the middle of the night *lol* Not good!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next morning we drove through the amazing volcanic landscape and returned to Reykjavik in the evening, along with the hotel's bed linens *blush* \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another highlight of our Iceland trip was visiting the Blue Lagoon<\/a>. A lagoon, not far from the capital, with actual blue, milky water. It's a really cool feeling to rub yourself with the volcanic mud, and it's damn good for relaxing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only thing that took some getting used to on our short trip to Iceland was the tap water, as both the cold and hot water came from natural Sources<\/a> come and these are of course sulfurous. Yummy. It stinks to no end, at least in the first five days *g*<\/p>\n\n\n\n
