We took a relatively short but very beautiful trip to Iceland. In total, we were only on the island for five days, but we still explored the entire southwest on our Iceland Short Trip. We had actually planned to <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
die ganzen Tage in Reykjavik bleiben, aber wir sind dann doch ins Insel „Innere“ gefahren. So ging es gen Osten zu den grossen Geysiren. Der derzeit gr\u00f6sste aktive Geysir schiesst alle 10 Minuten 80-100\u00b0 C heisses Wasser in die Luft. Sehr beeindruckend. Wir mussten leider bei allem, was wir unternommen haben, anschliessend im Auto mit der Klimaanlage unsere Klamotten trocknen *g* Es waren nur ca. 10\u00b0 C plus und somit war es bitte kalt in nassen Sachen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We continued to Gullfoss waterfall, which consists of two cascades. In the evening, we found a small cave in the mountains where we found dry shelter and had a barbecue. Yummy! And well-deserved!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then we went to sleep at the second highest waterfall in Iceland, Haifoss, in the south of the island. After a short walk, during which we were once again soaked to the bone, we slept soundly just a few meters away from the waterfall in our Jeep =). Until a fierce storm woke us up in the night. It's a strange feeling when you're in the middle of nowhere, in complete darkness, in the middle of the night, and you get the feeling the car is going to tip over *g* Not good!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The next morning we drove through the amazing volcanic landscape and returned to Reykjavik in the evening, along with the hotel's bed linens *blush* \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another highlight of our Iceland trip was visiting the Blue Lagoon<\/a>. A lagoon not far from the capital, which actually has blue, milky water. It's a really cool feeling when you rub yourself with the volcanic mud and it's damn good for relaxing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The only thing that took some getting used to on our Iceland short trip was the tap water, as both the cold and hot water come from natural Sources<\/a> come and these are of course sulfurous. Yummy. It stinks to no end, at least in the first five days *g*<\/p>\n\n\n\n
