Flims isn't called THE holiday region for locals for nothing. A hike from Flims to Conn will confirm this for you. If \"holiday region for locals\" sounds a bit strange, you're hearing correctly. Because the Flims, Laax, and Falera area is worth a visit in both summer and winter. I chose the time in between and drove to my favorite local recreation area. The autumn colors make the region around the Rhine Gorge appear colorfully picturesque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The starting point of my hike is the parking lot in Flims Waldhaus. After a bite for the parking meter, it's straight downhill to Lake Cauma. A lot has changed in Flims. Where there used to be a stony trail leading down, there is now the \u201eRed Path,\u201c nicely built and with numerous springs along the way. Here I first refill my water bottles and then take a small path down to Lake Cauma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lake Cauma is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world for me. In the summer, it always has turquoise water and is a swimming paradise in the mountains. But it's also incredibly beautiful here in the fall and winter. I walk through the swimming area and am happy that I don't have to pay an entrance fee. In the summer, please check the local Website<\/a> Regarding admission and opening hours. The restaurant there is also great. By the way, the admission fee is offset there if you consume something. Fair!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Many paths lead to Rome, and that applies just as much to Conn. Today I'm taking the direct route to the Conn viewing platform. The alternative is beautiful hiking trails through the forests, some shortcuts, some extensions. From here, it's about a 30-40 minute walk to Conn, past the cozy sun terrace of the Excursion Restaurants Conn<\/a>. It's a great place to relax in the summer with a coffee and a piece of cake. The path is also stroller-friendly, making it ideal for families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But since the restaurant is not open right now, I walk on to the \u201eIl Spir\u201c viewing platform, which juts out into the Rhine Gorge, offering a great and wide view of the Rhine. I relax here a bit and enjoy the scenery. The train is just passing through the valley below, and the view is quite kitschy. It totally reminds me of the Hamburger Miniaturwunderland<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I'm heading back and taking a break. Right by the path, there are great benches where you can also look into the gorge. Perfect for refueling and starting the way back. To get back to the parking lot, you just need to walk straight ahead. That is, no longer down to the lake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And so I take a few more great photos in the moss-covered pine forest and conclude this hike with the last steps towards Flims Waldhaus.<\/p>\n\n\n\nConn viewing platform \u201eIl Spir\u201c<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
