USA Day 6: First stop after breakfast (with shabby coffee): Taco Bell! Easy to reach thanks to the numerous food exits on the highway. Convenient!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Anschliessend passierten wir die kalifornische Grenze und fuhren weiter Richtung Lassen National Forest. Ein grosser Teil der W\u00e4lder ist hier abgebrannt, was wirklich be\u00e4ngstigend ausschaut. Laut Vista Point geschieht sowas alle 10 – 15 Jahre. Der letzte Brand war im Jahr 2009 und heisst Sugar Loaf Fire.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Zum z’Mittag machten wir an einem Wasserfall halt und entspannten ein bisschen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Towards evening, we looked for a romantic spot to sleep and found a hotel in a very, very, very small gold rush town, founded around 1850.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The hotel itself was built in 1874, and an elderly woman opened the door for us. With a smoky and eerie voice, she told us the history of the hotel and each of the rooms. One room is said to be haunted; there, the water needs 15 minutes to warm up. She has seen an old woman sitting by the window in the hallway several times. Oh my God!<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, it was the only hotel in the small town of Greenville. And so we spent the night huddled together, shivering (with fear and cold).<\/p>\n

Previously, we ordered a pizza at a small diner to regain our strength for the adventurous night ahead.<\/p>\n
