USA Day 9: Refreshed after a peaceful night, we went to the old hotel saloon for breakfast. They had really delicious food and even good coffee. This tasty breakfast motivated us to stay another night. This is how travel should be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Right after that, we headed to Yosemite. The mighty rock formations are impressive, as are the giant trees and forests. Since we only want to spend one day in the park, we drove straight to Yosemite Valley, where Yosemite Village is located. Since everyone else had the same idea, this plan turned out to be rather inconvenient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There were far too many tourists (people like us), only paved hiking trails, and endless shuttle buses ferrying tourist hordes from A to B every 5 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also took a shuttle to B and decided to go on a hike to one of the few waterfalls that had water this time of year. However, the only exciting thing here was when one tourist dropped her new Samsung Galaxy into a gorge. LOL *Schadenfreude* \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zur\u00fcck im Dorf und am Auto, fuhren wir zum Glacier Point. Eineinhalb Stunden entfernt und auf 2200 m H\u00f6he. Die Aussicht hier war toll. Man sah den m\u00e4chtigen El Capitan, den groessten Felsen, der ueber den Park wacht. Jedoch war es schwierig, einen freien Spot zu finden, um Bilder zu machen. Unglaublich viele Leute waren dort. Daf\u00fcr konnte man hier Souvenirs kaufen und zu Mittag essen, und sogar ins Internet gehen. Leider war Dennis traurig, da er Helene’s Schweizer Messer benutzen musste. Seines hatte sie ja weggeworfen. Hmpf….<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Conclusion from today:<\/strong> Yosemite National Park is truly impressive, but first, it looks exactly like Switzerland, and second, there are definitely places in the park with fewer crowds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Back at the hotel, we had food brought to the veranda again and chatted a bit with the hotel owner. He had the Hotel <\/a>Reopened in 2014 after a two-year renovation. All rooms are very spacious and decorated in different colors and themes. Really great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The building itself was built in 1850 and also Jamestown<\/a> emerged during the gold rush era in California.<\/p>\n\n\n
