Data Policy

Note from the editorial team: First of all… here are just the most important things. It’s also quick to read, I promise. 😉

Data protection hiking notes
Data Protection Hiking Notes Travel Blog 2016 – 2027

Who is responsible?
Denni Kiefere, Oberstraße 35, CH-7000 Chur
Email: dennis at wandernotizen dot com

What happens during the visit?
My hosting provider stores IP addresses, browsers, and timestamps for a maximum of 7 days to ensure the site runs smoothly. Images come from the Easy IO network in the USA, so they load quickly.

Contact and comments
Anything you write or comment on is only used for that purpose. I delete requests when they are completed, and comments when you request them. Google reCAPTCHA runs against spam, and profile photos come from Gravatar.

Only with your consent
Google Analytics (statistics) and Google AdSense (advertising) only run if you agree to the banner. Both of them set cookies. You can cancel at any time by deleting the cookies for wandernotizen.com.

Embedded content and affiliate links
YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, Google Fonts, Roundshot Webcams and GetYourGuide load directly from the providers that see your IP address. For links to Amazon, GetYourGuide and HomeExchange, I receive a small commission that the providers recognize through a cookie. It costs you nothing extra.

Why am I allowed to do that?
Because you have agreed to it, because you write to me, or because I have a legitimate interest in a secure, fast, and affordable site.

Data in the USA
Google and some other providers also process data in the USA. This is protected by the official data protection agreements or standard contracts.

Your rights
You can request access to, rectification of, deletion of, restriction of, and disclosure of your data, object to it, and revoke your consent. Simply write to me. You can also file a complaint with the data protection authority in your country, in Switzerland with the EDÖB.
