Aloha Relax Weekend at Lake Constance

Man gönnt sich ja sonst nichts, und so ging es zu einem Relax Wochenende am Bodensee, genauer nach Konstanz oder noch genauer nach Litzelstetten :-), wo wir ein tolles hawaiianisches Hotel entdeckten, das Ko’ono Hotel & Restuarant.

Von dort aus kann man bequem zur Insel Mainau laufen und braucht keine öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel oder das Auto zu benutzen. Neben gemütlichen Zimmern bietet das Hotel ein Restaurant mit hawaiianischen Spezialitäten….Burger. *g* Diese jedoch in allen Variationen, für Rindfleischliebhaber, für Veggies und für Huli Huli Hähnchenliebhaber, wie z.B. den Huli Kahuna Chicken Burger…yummy. Was man wirklich schmeckt, ist, dass alles frisch zubereitet wird. Sogar die Brötchen werden selbst gebacken. Es sind sogar glutenfreie Hamburgbrötchen oder so-called Burgerbuns erhältlich. Try it!

Mainau Island

Samstags sind wir dann gleich morgens nach einem üppigen Frühstück zur Insel Mainau rüber. Und das hat sich voll gelohnt. Die Farbenpracht ist einfach unglaublich. Danke verregneter Mai =)

By the way, you don't really have to be a flower lover to find the island beautiful. It's breathtaking how the flowerbeds are laid out there and how everything is blooming so nicely. There are even great little forests with bamboo and sequoias, like the ones we saw in California. Just a bit smaller here 🙂

We also visited the butterfly house and took some great photos of people taking pictures. Afterwards, we went shopping in Constance. The ferries run hourly, and you can get to Constance in about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the journey there is very calm, and you miss the waves *haha* But that's just how it is on Lake Constance.

We made our first stop at an ice cream shop, as we were really starving haha. After that, we went to Voglhaus, ...the world's smallest department store, according to their advertising. We treated ourselves to a delicious smoothie there. Afterwards, we browsed in various record stores and bought nothing, before heading back to the hotel to freshen up. After a tasty dinner, we went to the cinema. We watched Money Monster and then sold all our stocks *lol*

24 Hour Flea Market Constance

Am nächsten Tag, quasi Sonntag, schauten wir noch im Rahmen unseres Aloha Relax Wochenende am Bodensee auf dem 24 Stunden Flohmarkt in Konstanz vorbei. Dieser startet samstags um 19 Uhr und endet sonntags um 18 Uhr. Moment…das sind ja nur 23 Stunden….gähn!

In any case, the flea market goes on all night. It has about 1000 stalls and is 9 km long. It takes place from Kreuzlingen to Konstanz, making it cross-border. We didn't really find anything, but it was funny to watch all the tired flea market vendors. They've been sitting there for hours, selling off their old stuff.

Satisfied and richer by what we saved, we drove home again.

We had a successful and relaxing Aloha Relax weekend at Lake Constance, and the weather even cooperated. Thanks for that!
