That Wandernotizen This has meanwhile become not just my personal travel blog, but a travel blog against wanderlust, which many of you have noticed. But still, I occasionally get the question of what can be found here. I therefore want to use the quiet time of year to show you exactly what "Wandernotizen" stands for and how the blog can help and inspire you.
What exactly is Wandernotizen.com?

My Swiss Travel Blog for Wanderlust Wandernotizen.com primarily targets travel enthusiasts who want to see our beautiful world but are either unable to travel at the moment or are looking for inspiration for their next trip. I'll give you tips here on where to find unforgettable experiences that you'll remember for a lifetime. You'll also get a glimpse into the life of a Swiss family exploring the world with their children. Therefore, many activities are now more family-friendly.
Who is blogging here and why?

I'm Dennis, born in „80, and together with my family, I love to travel. For years now, I've been prioritizing investing in time and experiences with my family over material possessions. In the past, it always had to be the latest phone, the newest PC, and fancy clothes. After several trips, including solo ones, I've increasingly discovered contentment in things that are not finite. Everything material breaks down over time, or I've labeled it as “not nice enough" myself at some point because it had scratches or signs of wear.
Memories Last A Lifetime!
A trip doesn't wear out. You may have seen everything in one place at some point, but the world is thankfully big enough. Another positive aspect is that with every change of location comes a huge change, and it is precisely change that can lead to contentment and fulfillment. The challenge that is always necessary for this adds that last little bit to perfection. That's quite philosophical, but also so true at the same time.
By the way, it doesn't always require crossing borders. Our home base is Switzerland. We take many day trips there. Or we stay overnight at a hotel for one or two nights, or sleep in a tent. The kids obviously prefer the latter a thousand times over. You can experience adventures nearby too; for example, in 2020, we stayed in a Gondola spent the night at an altitude of 3000 m in Engadin. 🙂 Ultimately, my travel blog for wanderlust is there to bring you such experiences closer.
So I want to help you find ideas for excursions and trips with my Swiss travel blog. A reader once wrote to me that my hikes motivated him to discover hiking trails in Germany and helped him through a lockdown. That's exactly what my blog is for, and it's also a travel blog against wanderlust, for everyone who has to stay home.
Structure of my Swiss travel blog

I have logically divided my travels by continents and countries. This way, you have a concise overview of the countries I have already visited. Can you think of two other words that fit together as well as „already traveled„Not to me, at least not spontaneously. So, back to the text…
First and foremost, it's important to me that my impressions come across as I experience them, which is why I don't write textbook copywriting or sales pitches. Instead, I write as it suits me and as I experienced it. No post is structured the same way. However, in nearly every post, there are tips on how to get there, excursions, culture, or other things that I consider important. I try to provide all details as accurately as possible. Unfortunately, with older posts, it's sometimes the case that the data is outdated or, for example, restaurants or activities no longer exist.
Travelogues and Outdoors
Besides the category Travel Reports Do you find the category Outdoor. There you will find hikes, mainly in Switzerland. I'll also give you some tips for equipment and gear.
The category Miscellaneous, which has since been renamed Lifestyle, contains funny things, jokes, and things that don't fit anywhere else. But I also cover general topics there sometimes. In short. Everything that is on my mind.
Under Webcams I have listed my favorite places. With the webcam, I can conveniently see what it looks like on site right now. I don't care for weather forecasts. I prefer to take a quick look at how things are on site and then decide whether to go on an excursion there. This category is also the hardest to keep up-to-date. So please forgive me if a camera is offline sometimes.
Family outings is a collaboration with the Kinderportal Graubünden. There you will find exclusive excursions in Graubünden for families. The portal has been online since 2018 and is increasingly filled with excursion tips in Graubünden. The category Bad weather program Graubünden by the way, it is the most visited there. Although the weather in Graubünden is usually fantastic.
Remote Work Update 2023
I've been thinking for a long time whether I should stick to travel reports. Since I keep getting questions from you about working on the go, I've decided to create a new category here. Under Remote Work You'll find tips for working on the go starting in 2023. I'll introduce you to equipment that I use myself while working on the go, and I'll also mention software and apps from time to time. These will make your everyday life easier.
Fortunately, there are more and more digital nomads, and also Swiss digital nomads, who earn their living on the go. But even if you are self-employed and work more from a fixed location, the tools and tips will help you.
A Swiss travel blog that not only offers inspiration but also makes your work life easier. 🙂
Social Media
My Swiss Travel Blog on Instagram
My travel blog and I can, of course, also be found on various social channels. Among other things, I have an Instagram channel@wandernotizen), on which I regularly publish content. However, I don't place as much importance on frequent posting there anymore, but rather I've increased the quality of the images somewhat. Therefore, there are now one to two images a week there in really good quality, quality over quantity, as the saying goes.
Follow me on Instagram and you'll get to know many parts of our world through pictures and videos. This makes planning trips much easier, and of course, you'll also get your questions answered along the way.
I continue to cause a stir on Facebook and maintain a Facebook Page. However, I only share posts there that I publish here on my blog or on Instagram. I rarely write posts just for Facebook.
So if you follow both channels, you'll get everything I publish here and won't miss anything.
The travel blog against wanderlust - Wandernotizen.com

Especially in times of crisis, where one lockdown follows another, it can help to relax by looking at a few beautiful photos of our wonderful world. My travel blog exclusively features pictures that I have taken myself. Mostly just with my phone, as the quality is now so good that I don't have to lug around heavy photo equipment. Of course, the photos may be reused. For commercial use, I would like a backlink to my site here. Please just get in touch with me for that.
If you want to print a picture and need it in high resolution, send me an email or use my Contact Form. I'm not asking for money for it, as long as you don't need it for commercial purposes. 🙂
Now I wish you lots of fun on my Swiss travel blog to combat wanderlust. Enjoy your travels, get inspired and informed, and have a good and healthy time. And remember: We usually can't change the situation, but we can determine our own reaction to it!
Travel safe!
