USA Day 7: Lassen Volcanic National Park, Bumpass Hell, Sacramento (2014-10-02)

USA Day 7: We woke the owner at 7 AM because we were leaving. It was mean, but necessary. Thankfully, there was no breakfast and so also no shabby coffee. Although we are in California, our rear window was frozen. WHAT?

We toured Greenville, which is truly beautiful. It has burned down several times, but has always been lovingly rebuilt. We had breakfast at an old café and were delighted by the American breakfast for the first time. Even the coffee was enjoyable.

We continued to Lassen Volcanic National Park, which is located at an altitude of 2500 m and therefore offers a mega panoramic view over a part of California. Over a small part, a tiny one actually. Everything is so incredibly huge in the USA.

Among other things, we spent the day on a short hike to the geysers at Bumpass Hell. It looks wonderful here, yellow rock, colored yellow by sulfur and water over 100 degrees hot everywhere.

Conclusion: Quite Icelandic and adventurous.

We continued on Interstate 5 towards Sacramento. We found a cozy little restaurant there with Big Band music and ended the evening romantically.
