Choir Mittenberg

Today we went for a walk to the Mittenberg. This great viewpoint is always worth a visit. For those who like it quiet and don't want to tie up their hiking boots, He can comfortably walk up here and enjoy the afternoon sun, just like us. There are very many starting points for this short hike. You can start directly in the town by walking up the road towards Arosa and then turning straight into the forest there.

Alternatively, you can walk towards Kleinwaldegg and keep right in the forest there.

We usually start at the cemetery near Fürstenwald and walk up the mountain from there. In spring and summer, you pass by lush green meadows. You have the option to walk up a „road“ that is mainly used by bikers, or you can walk along a small path that winds its way up through the forest 🙂

Now at this time of year, you can also find some beautiful and rare plants (don't touch them!!!), and when you walk down towards the town, there's a small chapel that you should definitely visit. But be careful, if you start from the Fürstenwald, you'll arrive in town this way and then have to walk back up to the Fürstenwald 🙂

  • Directions Via Chur Nord, towards the cemetery, Fürstenwald
  • Walking distance 7.82 kilometers
  • Hiking time 2 hours (pure walking time)
  • Elevation gain: 420 meters
  • Meters of descent: 420 meters
  • Difficulty level: Simple
  • Requirements None

  1. Great tip, super beautiful there, my hometown 😉 Great pictures… Even those who aren't so good on their feet can find one of Chur's most beautiful spots right at your starting point, Fürstenwald.
