USA Day 12: Today breakfast was much better since we bought plenty the day before. Energized, we headed to Muir Woods today., a state park with redwood trees, so-called sequoias. These are truly incredibly large. They not only have a giant trunk but are also correspondingly tall. After another small refreshment, we continued to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Since we've only had good weather in the US so far anyway, today was also top weather and we were able to take some great pictures. You could even photograph Alcatraz perfectly, but unfortunately we can't show the pictures here as they are on the digital camera. They'll only be released at home. (Which is the case with this entry *g*)
Today I couldn't convince Helene to drive for once. We didn't have any traffic jams, but the highway was at least always three lanes wide.
In the afternoon, we went to Palo Alto, where we spent the night at Janet's house. She cooked excellently and we finally had a healthy dinner, even with vitamins. Yay! Also, the plates weren't made of cardboard and weren't thrown away after the meal. How unusual *g*
After that, we were shown part of Palo Alto during a pleasant evening walk. Among other things, we saw the Hewlett-Packard garage, which is considered the birthplace of Silicon Valley. Hewlett and Packard started their empire there in 1938.
Very interesting... for Dennis 🙂
