USA Day 14: In the breakfast room, we noticed that we had arrived at Highway 1. Only Germans were present. So far, we had only sporadically heard or seen Germans.
After a less-than-stellar breakfast, we drove to Monterey and explored the harbor. It was already decorated for Halloween, which created a peculiar but lovely atmosphere.
After that, we continued on the highway towards Big Sur. Along the way, we stopped at Pfeiffer Beach, where we took our first walk on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was beautiful and very, very quiet here. Perfect for relaxing.
Next stop: Big Sur. A pretty long stretch of coastline, with great vista points. The highlight was the beaches where sea lions and seals were sunbathing. They completely took over the beaches, so you couldn't walk on them. Pretty selfish!
Now it was only a stone's throw to Los Angeles, where we had booked two nights in West Hollywood. The hotel turned out to be fancier than it looked on the internet. Strange world! Hollywood! 🙂
