USA Day 17: Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, Twin Arrows, Navajo Indians (2014-10-12)

USA Day 17: After a bad standard breakfast with shabby coffee (we've finally returned to normal), we drove back to Downtown Las Vegas, to see the city in daylight. The hotels were even bigger now, but thankfully they didn't flash as cheesily anymore. We looked for Bouchon Bakery, which supposedly has the best macarons outside of France, mind you. And they were really top-notch! Insider tip!

After topping up our sugar levels, we headed over Boulder City to the Hoover Dam. Wow, it looks spectacular here. Even more impressive than on TV's "World of Wonders". 🙂 (Editor's note: Now, in 2015, after San Andreas, unfortunately everything there is destroyed. Thank God we saw it before *lol*)

Dennis took one picture after another until the film was almost full. Helene stayed a little in the background because the dam was really high.

Afterward, we continued on to Arizona. It was even drier here, and our hotel was at an altitude of 1900 meters. It was a bit unusual to see only sand and bushes at this altitude.

We checked into the hotel and had a delicious dinner delivered to our 2.5-room suite. We've booked it for three nights, so we definitely need the space.

The resort is run by Navajo Indians, so everything here was bilingual, namely Navajo and English.

A very great hotel, very chic, nice people, and a super location (see photos), especially if you're going to the Grand Canyon.
